Search Engines & Translations

Search engines

Creating a search engine for The Urantia Book, better than what is already out there, has not been a priority. Recommendations:

Urantia Book Fellowship: This search engine features a two column format that allows linking to the text from the search list.

Rene Ertzinger: An artisan and master website designer, Rene built a beautiful search engine site—UBook4u.com. It features a wider range of functionality, including the ability to exclude words from a search. For some topics, this can help narrow the field considerably.

Tigran Aivazian: Combining a search engine, translations, and annotations, this 6-column format allows for 4 side-by-side translations, plus a column for searches, and one for study notes. This is an especially robust search engine. See comparison chart.

Translations

Tigran Aivazian: Combining translations with annotations, this 6-column format allows for 4 side-by-side translations, plus a column for searches, and one for study notes. At last count, it had 18 translations, plus multiple versions of some languages.

Urantia Foundation: At the top of the page, two rows of language buttons provide easy access to the translation efforts.  For the widest range of translations, go to the Urantia Foundation website.

Urantia Book Fellowship: The 2-column format is easy on the eyes and also provides special features for downloading.

The Urantia Book: Past & Present

Abridged version

No human being claims to have written, channeled, or otherwise generated the text of The Urantia Book. The text says the authors were not human. In 2001, a lawsuit over the copyright denied the Urantia Foundation’s assertion of copyright protection. Consequently, the text is now in the public domain.

Two organizations, designed and intended to work harmoniously together, were created in the 1950’s—a publisher and a social group. Now there are two organizations acting in both of these capacities. And the name of the original social organization—Urantia Brotherhood—is no longer used.
