Never felt more in the middle of things.

The woman working at the Bald Knob Cross of Peace gift shop told me about a man who left moments before I arrived. He was led several weeks ago in a dream to go the Cross at a specific time (2 pm). I remembered passing him on the drive in.

The gift shop employee, who took the picture, did not know that December 14th marks the first transition day of the midpoint between the eclipses. She was happy to learn of this, about how the eclipse dates aligning with Urantia Bookdates, and that next year is the 4000th anniversary of Melchizedek’s arrival.

For me, developing an intriguing conversation in the general area of the Bald Knob Cross of Peace about these aspects of The Urantia Book is too easy and too much fun. Fortunately, my history with producing study aids makes it more natural in the course of the conversation to say that I recently moved here as an extension of work that I have been doing for almost fifteen years now.

That’s right. I’m not just here for a visit to the Bald Knob Cross of Peace. Last week, I moved to Carbondale, IL! The Cross of Peace is 20 miles away.

Last Thursday, after being here two days, I walked two hundred yards down the street to a little strip mall with the intention of asking whoever I met first for pizza and other local perspective recommendations. Turns out the guy majored in comparative religion. We had a nice conversation. He would like to talk some more.

The first tray of ice cubes produced two Halbertcicles. I think I’m going to like it here.

Carbondale is a small college town with about 25,000 people (14,000 full and part time students). The Neighborhood Coop has everything you would ever want in a health food store. Being a college town, all kinds of food is available all over the place.

I found some grad student housing. Being in the second-floor apartment of this duplex means that I only have someone below me, no shared walls. Two bedrooms, 700 sq/ft, central A/C, and an over-under washer-dryer for $595/month. Affordable living. What a concept. I think I’m going to like it here a lot.

Did you know that the information in the Dead Sea Scrolls that is so beautifully supportive of what The Urantia Book has to say about Melchizedek where not discovered until 1956? I think it’s time for another UBtheNEWS report. This development deserves something more powerful than a Topical Study.

My goal is to get this report written by the end of the year to kick off the 4000th anniversary of Melchizedek’s arrival. In order to get it done by then, I probably need to raise about 10 to 20 thousand dollars, maybe even 50K. I’m not sure. So, just send all your money now to me, your favorite Urantia Book religious fanatic. Keep those cards and letters coming, And I’ll keep you informed about upcoming plans in this area for 4000th anniversary celebrations (which will be ZOOMed, no doubt, so chill).

Here is the link for making a PayPal donation. Or you can send it direct to the address at the bottom of this email. And remember, this transition to the second half of the roughly seven years between the eclipses is no time to lose your sense of humor!
