A note to Newbies and all UBies:
First to the Newbies: I started UBtheNEWS.com almost twelve years ago. That project was designed as an outreach tool based on The Urantia Book’s unique quality of credibility. It primarily features reports on how new discoveries and scientific advances increasingly support The Urantia Book’s account of planetary history.
About a year and half ago, I started UBannotated.com as way to both continue presenting the information I was getting related to the UBtheNEWS project as well as to more generally create a useful study aid. UBannotated.com has a double column format with the text and annotations, plus a single column format with just the annotations, to be used with the online or hardcopy version of your choice. This site also has Topical Studies and other features.
More recently, I started hosting two ZOOM meetings per month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday at 6pm PT. The 2nd Wednesday is for study and the 4th Wednesday is for discussing Urantia community issues in the broadest sense. The 2nd Wednesday group is working through the Controversial Subjects section of the Topical Studies page on UBannotated. So, now that you’re caught up . . .
To all UBies: Last week’s 2nd Wednesday ZOOM study group on “Abortion and Resurrection of the Unborn” led to posting several polls in the Urantia group on facebook. Polls show that Urantians are divided on a number of issues, like when personality is assigned and when it is bestowed, as well as whether there is a resurrection for the unborn. So, if anyone wants to continue with this discussion, that’s where we will begin the 4th Wednesday ZOOM meeting.
When that discussion gets played out, we will start in with whatever other community issues people have on their minds.
If you are new to The Urantia Book, I hope you will not feel intimidated about using this admittedly peculiar opportunity as a way to meet and greet. Welcome to the deep end of the pool!
