Bio

Matthew Block has been reading The Urantia Book since 1976. In the late 1980’s, he worked for Urantia Brotherhood in reader services and then continued work with the Fellowship. In 1992, he set about making a project out of identifying source authors. Publications documenting advances in his work have been forthcoming for 25+ years and counting.

Contributions

urantiabooksources.com: Matthew creates and publishes “parallel charts, which identify the sources for particular Urantia papers (or sections) and trace how they were used.” After so many years of work on such a broad topic, not surprisingly, his efforts are referenced too many times on this website to be individually mentioned. But a review of his website will give you an encapsulated look at the substantial body of work.

squarecircles.com: For decades, Matthew has worked cooperatively with Saskia Raevouri on the SqaureCircles project—a general study aid effort with notable areas of specialized development. For instance, their work with obtaining and publishing the Harold Sherman diaries has had significant influence on discussions and opinion about the origin and nature of The Urantia Book. Also of importance concerning origins is their obtaining and publishing a notebook by Sir Hubert Wilkens. And along with a wide range of numerous other study aids, there is a scanned copy of a first edition. Their combined efforts represent one of the most comprehensive and enduring of all private Urantia Book study aid projects.
